Online registration is now open for the 2017 Sneem JFK 50 Mile Challenge which takes place in Sneem on the weekend of the 20th and 21st May 2017. The Challenge is to complete 50 miles (80km) in under 20 hours. There is also a 26 mile and 15 mile walk option. This year, the Challenge is open to runners as well as walkers. The community of Sneem was delighted to welcome from Sunday 13thto Thursday 17th November, falconers from up to 60 counties across the globe.
Gold medal for Sneem in Tidy Towns Competition 2016
Sneem was delighted to be a gold medal winner in the 2016 Tidy Towns, scoring 322 marks, up from 317 in 2015 and only 4 points behind Birdhill, the winner of Ireland’s Tidiest Village category. See what the judges said about Sneem in the Adjudication Report. Sneem won the overall Tidy Towns Award in 1987, so maybe 2017 will be our year?

An Post Rás
Sneem are delighted to be hosting the stage 4 finish of the Rás on Wednesday 25th May 2016.
This stage will begin in Dingle at 11am on the morning of the 25th and the cyclists will travel 100 miles passing through Caherciveen, Waterville, Caherdaniel and Castlecove, entering Sneem continuing on to Tahilla, up Gortagown, re-entering Sneem via the Killarney road to finish at the Sneem Hotel Entrance on Golden’s Height. We hope to see the cyclists enter Sneem between 2pm and 5pm.

Issue 167 features the upcoming An Post Rás cycle race on the front page. Sneem will be hosting the stage 4 finish on Wednesday 25th May. SCNB Issue 166 features the Sneem/Derrynane U10s and U12s who travelled to Croke Park on 31st March to play in the U12 Blitz on the front cover.
