Hilary’s shop is an institution in Sneem, where you can buy everything from goat’s yoghurt to cattle feed, get paint mixed or choose the local farm eggs from behind the counter. You can do your weekly shop late into the evening, just don’t expect quick service, this is a shop where you stop and chat and catch up on local happenings.
Welsh woman, Sharon Evans settled in Sneem in 2011 and set up her upholstery business in the Old Dance Hall premises on the Killarney Road. She opened the Green Chair haberdashery and vintage gift shop in the South Square in July 2015 and continues her upholstery business onsite. Sharon is also championing local crafts which she stocks in her shop under the “Made in Sneem” label.
Sneem has been participating the TidyTowns Competition for over 50 years and won the overall award in 1987.
Angelika Scheibein came to Sneem from Germany in 1992 with her young family. She set up her Holistic Therapy business at her home in Drimnamore in 1996 where she practices massage therapy, reflexology, Indian head massage, cupping, reiki and acupuncture.
