Sneem Community Notice Board Issue 222

After a short but busy tourism season, Sneem is delighted to see the reopening of our two local primary schools and preschool and creche, details inside with a welcome increase in new students. There’s also an update on the increasingly successful Sneem Digital Hub resulting from people working from home and when visiting Sneem. There’s a synopsis of the inaugural Sneem Story House meeting and and the winners of Sneem Tidytowns Blooms for the Bees competition are announced.

Sneem Community Notice Board Issue 221

The July issue of the Sneem Community Notice Board features kids from the recent Sneem Cúl Camp and the IRCC Air Ambulance which recently attended a medical emergency in Sneem on the front page. Inside are updates from local groups, including plans for a new Wildlife Garden and Community Orchard from Sneem TidyTowns. The success of Sneem Digital Hub is an unexpected result of Covid 19 with lots of people now working remotely.

Blooms for Bees Competition

While there won’t be any National TidyTowns Competition this year, the residents of Sneem are encouraged to keep the village looking its best and provide wildlife corridors throughout the village to provide food for bees and other pollinators.  Your gardens and window boxes are vital for this. Sneem TidyTowns Working Group is  running a Blooms for the Bees Competition over the summer with a first prize of €60 and €40 for the runner-up.
