Aidan Murray, Manager of Sneem Digital Hub was interviewed by Bobby Kerr on the Down To Business show on Newstalk Radio last Saturday 2nd February. Sneem was delighted to be a gold medal winner in the 2016 Tidy Towns, scoring 322 marks, up from 317 in 2015 and only 4 points behind Birdhill, the winner of Ireland’s Tidiest Village category. See what the judges said about Sneem in the Adjudication Report. Sneem won the overall Tidy Towns Award in 1987, so maybe 2017 will be our year?
The Working in Sneem group is delighted to announce that the first 7 candidates given employment by Starwood Hotels and Resorts will start their training at a centre provided by Louis Moriarty of Sneem Hotel on Monday the 25th January.
The Sneem EC group are anxious to receive more CVs from potential candidates who have general financial backgrounds, customer service skills or IT Technical Support expertise.
Brushwood Studios is the studio gallery of a family of talented artists: M A Muller, Jo-Anne Yelen, Pam Muller, and Diana Muller. The Muller family came from South Africa to settle in Sneem in the late 1970s. Their home and gallery overlooks Kenmare bay on the Kerry Way and visitors are always made welcome with tea or coffee while they browse the colourful paintings and batiks.
Working in Sneem is an initiative by Sneem Enterprise Centre and the IDA to help skilled people who may wish to locate to Sneem to connect with potential employers who offer ‘work from home’ jobs. The initiative already has international companies looking for ‘work from home’ staff to fulfil roles in IT, software development and also in sales and customer service (with a second language an added advantage).
