The front page of our first issue of 2023 features local winners of recent Hotel Gold Awards. This issue contains feedback from Sneem TidyTowns application into the 2022 Pollinator Award, plans for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day and Summer Festivals and other events planned for the year.
Find out what’s happening over the Christmas season in the December issue. It features reports from last month’s Sneem Storytelling Festival, local clubs and schools.
The November issue featured upcoming events such at the Sneem International Folklore and Storytelling Festival which takes place from 11th to 13th November this year. The Tidytowns adjudication report is printed in full inside and there’s news from both schools and local clubs. There are photos from the Scarecrows on the Green in Sneem Festival and of course, news of Sneem Resource Centre’s recent move to new premises in the South Square.
The October issue features upcoming events for Halloween in Sneem. There are reports from various clubs and the programme for the upcoming Sneem International Storytelling and Folklore Festival.
In April 2021, we published an article in the Sneem Community Notice Board asking for ideas.
One issue that was raised was the open grid across Sneem Bridge which many people found difficult to cross. It was also pointed out that most dogs couldn’t walk over the grid and many had to be lifted over this section – this was especially difficult with assistance dogs which are generally heavy labradors.
Working with Sneem TidyTowns, we engaged the engineer from Kerry County Council. As a result, a section of the open grid was filled in and now everyone can navigate the bridge with ease.
The June issue of the Sneem Community Notice Board features last month’s first Holy Communions on the front page. Inside are details of the upcoming regattas in Sneem, Sneem and Tahilla school and Sneem creche’s end of year reports, news from Sneem Digital Hub, Sneem Tidytowns and Blackwater.

The July/August issue of the Sneem Community Notice Board features the Knightley family who won a car in the local Credit Union members draw. Inside find reports of Sneem Development’s work around the village and a list of the Top 10 things to do for free in Sneem. There’s a collage of the Sneem River Word Walk 2021 on the back cover.
The January issue of the Sneem Community Notice Board celebrates the new year with a photo of the fireworks display on the front cover. Inside are photos from the Senior Citizen’s Christmas Party, the Santa Fun Run and reports from the local schools.
The Window Box is owned and run by Sneem florist Fiona O’Shea in the South Square in Sneem. Established since 2006, Fiona provides a personal service for all your floral needs. She also stocks greeting cards, Skellig Chocolates and potted plants.
