The Chastitute by John B. Keane will be staged by the Kenmare Drama Group on Sunday 19th March at Sneem Community Centre.  The main character is a bachelor farmer played by David O Dwyer (John Mc Laine) , supported by  stalwarts Noel Crowley and Padraig Rochford and many other well known actors and actress within the Kenmare Drama Group.

John is looking for a dacent woman to share his life.  Many obstacles along the way.  He ‘nearly got there a thousand times but nearly never bulled a cow’!  He is ‘a rustic celibate by force of circumstances’ of the 70s ‘where the Catholic  tradition of life- long sexual abstemiousness is encouraged and ….free range sex is absolutely taboo….’
